Configure a policy

Policies are reusable controls. Agent assignment determines where they take effect.

  1. Open Policies and choose New policy.
  2. Give the policy a clear name and select its target action.
  3. Add narrowly scoped rules with an effect, condition, and reason.
  4. Give each rule a recognizable name so decision evidence is easy to read.
  5. Save the draft.

Prefer several small policies over one policy that owns every concern. For example, keep a low-value refund policy separate from a 24-hour usage limit.

Open Test policy, provide representative JSON context, and check every evaluated condition. Comparison mode shows how the draft differs from the published baseline for the same input.

Publication creates an immutable version; it does not assign that version to every agent. Open the agent configuration and add the published policy. Confirm the agent fallback for actions with no applicable policy. Assigned policies still govern their target actions.

Next, test the policy and exercise a real action through a trusted integration.
